In this week, I had to track the progress of my project by answering the list of questions that are given by Neil.
Questions to be answered
What is the deadline and how much time do I have left
The deadline of my presentation is on the 19th of June 2019. If all things go correctly at the end, I will be able to complete the project on 17th of June 2019 that will give me enough time to persue documentation
What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
Currently, I have completed electronics design and production, laser cutting, few parts are 3D printed and some are remaining. Assembling of the project is in progress. I started programming although little is being done so far. Application development is still remaining.
what has worked? what hasn't?
The core of the project, the ATMEGA 328P Main Board is working fine. During programming I found out that the belt of my X-Axis cannot be driven properly as I cannot control the speed of the motors. As lowering the speed will generate enough torque to move the Antenna along X Axis. I am nowadays looking for a library that is gonna assist me to control the RPM of the motor.
what questions need to be resolved?
The Motor Shall generate enough torque to drive the belts on the X Axis, this is really important for to Answer. Also I have to decide how I am going to control the project i.e via PC or Mobile.
what will happen when?
Below, is the planned work flow timeline that I wish to acheive inorder to Finalize the Project and documentation on time
what have you learned?
The Skills that I obtained in every week of assignments with plenty of success and failures gave me the confidence to accept failures as a learning oppotunity. Apart from the skills, the other important thing that I have learned during this FAB Academy is the documentation and it shall be done daily or week to week basis. Due to Ezam of my course subject in between, I was not able to document in between and then it pilled up alot at the end which created further burden to catch up with the upcoming weekly tasks. I have learned whatever we do, there shall be a daily 20-30 min of documentation that can provide efficient project management
